Mallory Park Circuit - Audio Podcasts

Mallory Park is renowned as being one of - if not the best - circuit for spectator viewing in the country.

This is why Mallory Park has the nickname "The Little Circuit with the Big View"

Located in a natural amphitheatre, the grassy banks that overlook the circuit enable you to see all of the action. This is especially true when the oval Mallory Mile circuit is in use for Eurocars - you can see all of the circuit from any spectator point.

The 10 stages are all on the Tarmac circuit and between 3-4 miles long, the front-runners will need a mix of car set-up, speed, power and commitment if they want to win the one-day event.

The event counts towards the Association of North East Midlands Motor Clubs Road Rally Phoenix Awards Championship and the East Midland association of Motor Clubs Renault Skoda Stage Rally Championships. THE JORDANS ROAD SURFACING supported rally is organised by the Eastwood Motor Club.

Mallory Park General Manager John Ward said: "This is set to be a fantastic event with a winner decided on the day over 10 tough stages. The cars are incredibly quick with power outputs well over 600bhp in some cases. Entry is a bargain and it's a full day's entertainment."

The first car is off at 0930 on Sunday 5th February and the event is expected to conclude at 1700. Entry costs just £5 per car (the more people in the car the more cost effective it is).

January Update - John Ward - Circuit Manager

MALLORY PARK is investing more than £500,000 in circuit improvements this winter, including the complete resurfacing of the track and paddock areas.
The 1.39-mile long track will be completely resurfaced in specially mixed Tarmac that will offer circuit users superb levels of grip and a consistent new surface that should see lap times tumble come Spring and Summer 2011.

Professional contractors will carry out the work in January and February in time for the first meeting of the 2011 calendar - The Buildbase Mallory Trophy Championship Motorcycle Races on Sunday 6th March.

As well as resurfacing the track, the entire paddock area will be given new Tarmac and leveled, turning it into one of the best standing areas for competitors in the UK at any circuit.

Further safety improvements will be made during the construction period. The run-off at Gerards will be pushed back 25-metres to allow plenty of space for fast bikes or cars to come to a halt safely. These modifications will also see a spectator banking and new service road being installed. The modification will see the area behind the new works being landscaped and turned into a nature area for the locals and walkers in the area to enjoy.
